MUNCH, in Oslo, formerly Munchmuseet, is a 13-story cultural institution dedicated to the life and work of Edvard Munch. Opened in 2021 in the Bjørvika district, it houses the world’s largest collection of his art, alongside spaces for temporary exhibitions, events, and public programs.
North was commissioned to re-think the visual identity, name and wayfinding system, as the museum moved to its new home, masterly imagined and brought to life by Estudio Herreros.
Working closely with MUNCH's team and designers at North, we made the visuals for the exhibitions and campaigns after the museum opened.
I joined North just after the visual identity concept and logo were agreed, and we then developed an information and animation system for the screens inside and outside the museum to keep the informations clear, and the communication engaging.
